Maryland Naturopathic Licensure Update 2012

As the 2012 Legislative Session in Annapolis comes to a close this week, the Maryland Association of Naturopathic Physicians would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank all of the individuals including our patients, friends, family, neighbors and other healthcare professionals who stood faithfully by our cause and voiced their support for licensure of naturopathic physicians in Maryland. While our bill for licensure did not pass this year, we have successfully gained increasing support from legislators in the House and Senate and feel confident that during the interim period between sessions the MDANP will be able to sit down with representatives from the allopathic medical community who opposed our bill to find common ground and an approach for licensure that brings the most benefit to our patients.

After spending much time on these State House steps in Annapolis, I have learned that the game of politics is neither fair nor predicable. However, maintaining an honest campaign with a strong and passionate message will create relationships needed for long-lasting support. The momentum of the MDANP remains spirited and determined. We look forward to your continued support for our efforts so that together we can Transform Healthcare in Maryland!
